Plethora:

Aif can feel that the rain is approaching quickly, and some sixth sense forebodes lightning, so he calls a warning out to Yana, but in Celtic, not Germanic (force of habit), and she moves out of earshot without noting his message.  Aif trusts that she knows how to take care of herself (well enough at least), shrugs it off, and drags into the hut some more dry-ish wood until the rain begins.

"Zven, [unknown. . .." Zven nods and leaves the bread where it is. Zaluk takes another piece, and motions to the bread with palms up to welcome Douzheng to partake.

Attn.: Douzheng

Douzheng bows mildly, and accepts another breadslice. He gets to work shortly after, querying Zaluk whenever it's unclear where a certain work or two should be.

SWAT One:

Yana arrives down at the river and begins to scoop heaps of clay onto the stone, then carries the stone back to the hut. Aif sees Yana incoming with the stone held over her head with a heap of mud on it.

Zaluk thanks Douzheng for his work and says something to Zven before Douzheng asks his question. Zven goes downstairs again. "Alphabetical by author, please."

Douzheng realizes that most of these scrolls recount military battles, strategic practices and study in tactics, training and form. The library is extensive, something that might be at a barrack's library back in Trusia, however, the texts are old, some of them hardly legible, and all of them using Late Middle Trusian. Other works include old poems and writings with which Douzheng has a passing familiarity. Some are classic works of Epsilosi scholars. Most of these appear to be copies.

Theric begins to feel the first rain fall on the boat, which is making good but uneasy headway over the choppy seas.

--- Quote from: SWAT One on March 03, 2018, 11:14:22 AM ---The men happily receive his help and pull Theric up on board just as the boat begins leaving. The sails remain tied up, and several men on the already mainly depopulated deck head under for the rowing deck. They start to push the oars out of the several port and starboard portholes. Two men are manning the rudder. A soldier commands Theric, "Go and help the men below." before walking toward a man of the cloth which Theric had not noticed before, with his face covered by a large hood. The cloak is grey, but decorated with indigo patterns on the hood, arms and back. The man speaks with Ikhannuk and the helmsman, but then turns to face the soldier which addressed him before.

Theric grunts, panting as he feels the rain patter against himself and the upper deck as he takes a moment to catch his breath. Looking over to the soldier, Theric nods- his eyes following him before he stares deeply at the hooded man. His brows furrow and he takes in his appearance with great detail, before he shakes his head to himself and does as the soldier instructed- heading to the lower decks to help out the others as best as he can.

While he does this, he's also gonna try and earn some brownie points with the other soldiers while he has the chance. Reputation is important, when you're foreign.

SWAT One:

The boat jolts suddenly as a wave hits it starboard-side, throwing him into the side of the stairway and bumping him into a soldier who is coming up from the lower decks, no doubt annoying him but not seeming to make him exceptionally angry. "Hey, watch it." The soldier continues on up to the upper deck and turns toward the stern.

Theric is hit with a wave of rank, humid and tepid air from the rowing deck. As his eyes adjust, he sees a mix of some soldiers and some other men in poor quality trousers with no shirts on their backs. All of them is rowing. A soldier spots Theric and calls him to take a seat on the bench.
