How do I walk on ice without falling through

One more method I haven't personally tested is to spill the Milk and then Cry over it, wait and march proudly over your Bridge of Milk and Tears

if you break the ice before you step on it, you can't fall through while crossing it because its already gone.
Ceist:
the ice gets thinner the further out you are, but if the ice looks cloudy and stable about 20 feet from the shore, chances are it's the same all the way across the lake.
