Does your friend deserve to be deported for being Muslim? Does he rape women and burn cars on your street?
More importantly, does he deserve to live in fear of one day being deported due to all the negative media emphasis on Islam there exists lately

aye, but i don't think we handled them properly throughout history. andrew jackson and the kool kids klub, as examples, should've gotten life sentences for crimes against humanity. they didn't, though, because society didn't very starkly contrast with the perpetrators- unlike now, where the perpetrators are far more isolated from the society that they exist in
edit: not saying the perpetrators of the thread-related events should be tried for crimes against humanity

ah. then i agree

absolutely

the largest sunni sect of islam in the UK is deobandi
overall it's a very sad issue. there absolutely are peaceful, liberalized muslims who have little or no common ground with these other groups who act as cults in comparison, but a large fraction of islam is undeniably hateful
people like @op don't help things by sensationalizing the issue, because that only brings polarity to the table

Empathy is a thing.
What does it matter to you?
Drydess:
the issue with deciding whether a race or a minority group of people is more harmful than another is that a news company reporting about a majority doing something is usually redundant, so you never see "middle aged white man attacks homeless person"
the fact is that cancers like wahhabism (or other less popular violent sunni sects) are making the middle east a continuously violent region which means migrants are a whole lot more likely to be normalized to that kind of stuff---so of course refugees are more likely to commit crime (also because they're in the lower class), but complaining about it and generalizing any muslim or any refugee to be criminal doesn't solve anything

You're definitely not empathetic, stop fooling yourself 😂
