You've never heard of foot balls?
It's a rare birth defect and makes walking pretty painfull

it's the bottom of the foot between the toes and the arch

no, the pain is on the side of the foot facing the other foot
I'm giving placid's theory a lot of credence because the shifting isn't as pronounced anymore and I have feeling in the bottom of the toe again
