they rolled out the gardening update today

unfortunately it seems like the only point to doing it is to get floral print clothes and furniture

Well just hold out a bit longer I'm sure the clothes craftin' is comin' soon! Right?

Also it seems villagers in your campground get a bigger boost than they would otherwise from doing errands (5-6 as opposed to just 2-3), and if you stand still in your campground you're shown which characters can be talked to for items.

I dislike this update because every time I recruited a new villager, all of my current camp dudes would reset and give me more opportunities to show my love for them. It looks like it only refreshes immediately after upgrading/installing an amenity.

also for anyone who hasn't been keeping up, they added clothes crafting and they're going to let us dress our villagers soon (!!!)
