audacity is actually great for recording. however it's extremely limited with regards to post-production, so you won't want to rely on it for mixing or adding effects.

in the future, in case you want to record again, a rocksmith cable is a decent cheaper option than an interface.

record with asio4all? audacity? there's some free options to cleanly record guitar like this.
