I like to think of these holes as having a begining point and an end point. In a torus, we can see the the object has one hole. What people do not realize is that there is in fact a beginning and an end to that hole. The begining of the hole is at the first half of the object. The ending is the other half. If you drill a hole into a straw, you can see that the holes sides are not perfectly flat. There is still some "straw" left on the sides with two corner areas on the inside and out side. Think of it as "a hole that intersects with another hole."

yall. shut t fuk up. a tunnel thru a mountain has two openings. so does a damn straw. im gonna lose it
two openings, one hole

Gentlemen. The evidence is clear...

There is only ONE hole!

straws actually have no holes as a hole implies there is a shape with another shape cut out of it.
when in reality the straw is a cylinder with no bases.
Straws infact have 1 cylinder and 0 holes.

A straw is just a small tunnel.

Obviously someone hasn't been reading their dictionary. A hole is a hollow place in a solid body or surface. It doesn't have to be cut out. It just needs to be there. No bases required.

Then by that logic, packing bubbles are full of holes.

It's not a hole if the entire space has been enclosed by an outer surface!

I said it doesn't have to be. You can still make holes if you need to.

you guys are missing some important stuff. we're all aware of the straw epidemic, but have we ever talked about paper towels?

or toilet paper for that matter?

like what the forget, think reddit

if u consider a mouth to be one hole and the starfish a different hole, then yes, straws have one hole.

Edgeworth, this isn't the time to talk about paper towels...

can't you see, pentatonix right? they have holes on each end! does this make them straws? do they have 1 or 2 holes? think REDDIT
