I need help on editing a video and adding text (for lyrics) its for some gay science project due tommorow. im probably forgeted I have no idea how to add text for the lyrics

i don't know if it's still free, but sony vegas 8 or 9 was free. you could download that and i can help more

Blender is (believe it or not) capable of editing videos. It's free and you can download it from steam or the blender website.
Here is a video editing tutorial playlist to help you on your way. You won't have to watch all the videos, just some of them.
