Ping shows up dead on some servers? When they aren't dead?

It kept happening to me for a few days now. I want to know what is going on and how do i fix it.
It could be a new bug or something I don't really know.

Uh that's always been like that, ping means the server owner forwardd their ports while --- means the server is using UPnP instead.

My ports are forwarded and it still sometimes does this.
