epic launcher sucks end of story

to be fair the epic games store is an objectively worse platform in terms of features

it's a game launcher, not a social platform. Steam as a launcher is just as good as epic launcher. Steam as a social platform is better because epic games is not a social llatform

what about the stuff besides social features, like controller support, cloud saves, streaming, not getting weekly emails saying your account was compromised etc etc....

a lot of those are on their list for planned features or things that they're currently adding

phantOS forgets that people don't like epic games because they're pandering anti-consumerism and literally buying into their stuff proves their point. the ignorance is so loving unreal lol.

each step they make doing something like this is two steps backwards financially. i have no doubt this will forget them in the long run, but who cares, the investors would have made their money and taken off by then.

What happening is that Tim Sweeny: head of Epic Games (and owner of the Unreal Engine) is aggressively buying out game titles from Steam to give more of a cut to developers per sale than Steam currently is. He's also said that he would stop doing this if Steam stopped taking 30% of game sales. This is what Ive been told, I have no source on this mind you.

It helps the developers, but also locks people from the Steam community which is kind of scummy.

Welp considering how this is already being discussed in games we don't need this topic anymore.
