yehea blockland is absolutely loving obliterated it got shot at by an ion cannon
not even abraham lincoln could reach these levels of truth

forget brickadia. people are sucking the game's richard and acting like it's the best game of all time. They say "it's better than blockland" even though 90% of the stuff they're gonna add in is from blockland. It's the exact same game on Unreal Engine 4, a game engine with no soul.

not sure how game engines can have a soul....? like yeah people are overhyped about it, but its not like its stuff either. its still very very good considering its an alpha. the new building tools they have added also really change up the building system and make it a lot more powerful and much less mod-dependent compared to BL.

What soul does blockland have left nowadays. Not one server being hosted right now wasnt hosted 5 years ago. At least with brickadia people are creating new things and they will continue too. People are hyped for brickadia because they burned out on blockland but still liked the concept it was. I wouldn't take brickadia over blockland years ago but now when the only servers being hosted aren't fun what reason is there to stick with blockland. The only new interesting project I see is national socialist zombies.

Uhhh

What about ZAPT:R?!

I can only imagine it being easier to create mods on brickadia.

blockland's engine isn't exactly user friendly.

Much more possibilities, we were lucky to even get trains on blockland and even then they don't work that well

I like ZAPT but it has to be done really good for it to be fun. I just checked out your thread and it looks like you put more effort into it instead of just hosting normal zapt which is neat. I don't know how many people still like playing zapt though. I wish someone would of redid/remake the old "The Thing" mod from 2011 that could of took off but nobody ever looked at fixing the mod up unfortunately. Video for those who don't remember it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9R6mTuB3ns.

thats less to do with "blockland not user friendly" and more "blockland not having engine-sided stuff to enable [mod that doesnt work well] to be done right"

if anything modding on UE4 will be more restrictive as the engine itself isnt designed for modding, unlike blockland's. any modding system they put together will have to be constructed on top of the existing engine, rather than being built into it.

okay but ill suck on the games richard in terms of building tho

But Brickadia updates and Blockland don't + we got maps back

unreal engine 4 has not been ensouled with the spirit of a dead man

i haven't posted in well over two years, the forums still not being updated with the old style it once had before some stuff storm happened (idk when this was, i admittedly was lurking) somewhat supports the op's claim. personally makes the forum feels a bit neglected.

the game itself however isn't exactly dead......yet. i mean it's nothing like how it was back when i started playing ten years ago back in V10 but like most games people get bored of them and play something else much like i did.

i was eleven coming up to twelve when i first played this game, still at school with loads of time on my hands to explore the bedroom or one of those gsf city maps. i remember being excited af for the gsf paradise maps to come out, around 2010 - 2012 playing on gravity cat's gov vs rebels tdm/ctf/rp/thing on paradise like it was ARMA on my stuffty amd radeon x300 1gb 1.8ghz duo core pc was the stuff back then.

now? i'm twenty two, full time job working for my country protecting the realm. i don't have the time for computer games anymore or as often as i used to all those years ago and i miss games such as blockland or battlefield 1942 that used to be really, really populated.
now i'm into my cars.

tl;dr blockland isn't dead yet but who knows, maybe one day the game will be booming with players. you can't just point at a game and say "dead" because clearly the community here is still alive on the forums (for stuffposting primarily).

To be honest, I saw Brickadia and was tempted to switch to Brickadia. But I also think it's not really the graphics themselves (it's a neat side-thing, at least for me), it's mainly that there are more players and I somehow got the old Blockland vibes back. Inb4Badspot bans everyone who admits to having switched to Brickadia.

Like TBM?
Yeah, but that was dumb because he was banning people for liking a mod that was made by starfishs who turned it into a virus iirc.

Unless Brickadia ends up secretly being an Unreal Virus cooperirativley made with Tim Sweeney at the force people to switch to the EGS, then no, not happening.
