need help with pc screen resolution problems (solved maybe)

ok so i decided to borrow my brother's pc monitor for a while to try it out on my pc if it still looked bad, and after plugging it in the hdmi port (since the monitor has support for that), it looked like it should

so i have 3 conclusions:

1.the dvi-d cable is not working correctly
2.the dvi-d port in the gpu is not working correctly
3.the monitor is not working correctly

did u use your monitor menu button and try something in aspect like in my element monitor

it looks like that but with M < > E and hte powerbutton to the bottom right

i already tried everything with the monitor options but nothing worked
ok so probably last update: i borrowed another monitor from my brother that he doesn't need anymore, and everything is so looking good so far, which means that the problem all along was the monitor

only problem with this other monitor tho is that the resolution for it is 1600x900 instead of 1980x1080, but hey, its better than nothing i guess, i will keep it (for now)
