For example, searching change my mind brings you a list of videos, where Steven Crowder's channel doesn't show up until a little bit down the page.

I'm willing to believe that, given after EmpLemon posted a video about how Leafy was basically depersoned by YouTube, there was a similar situation where searching LeafyIsHere wouldn't yield you ANY results for his channel, but soon after this video gained traction, searching LeafyIsHere suddenly started reappearing in search results. The best thing, in this case, is to check comments and see if there was a time where US viewers started seeing this and then suddenly Stopped seeing it. But the unfortunate reality is, this type of situation is hard to keep track of, but given the information about YouTube's leaked blacklist, this seems to have been real.

it's really hard to monitor what the forget the search function does tbh, it changes so quickly

same with google, they change it so often because people build entire services around reverse engineering their search function to get more hits, I wouldn't be surprised if they have some kind of randomization built in so that people dont game the system. that being said, it's almost impossible to know if someones being censored unless its blatantly obvious like their content never appears at all

either randomization or some kind of trend-based search results maybe? like if the person's views drop off and they become irrelevant they disappear from the search results? idk it's anyone's guess at this point on how it works. I'd have to ask some people that work there to know more

They then apply the assumptions that 1. Crowder lied, instead of the more obvious (Youtube fixed it) and 2. all the links are fake
