These words seem the same but I was wondering if you guys knew if there were any official differences? Is bot just short for robot?
I know I could google this but it's more fun to ask you guys.

through some searching online: robots are machines that do things automatically while bots are software programs that do things automatically
although to be honest they're probably used interchangeably

robot literally means 'slave' in slavic

bot is short for robot but tends to have connotations of digital things like twitter bots while robot usually implies a physical machine
