character depth wise, mike is obviously the best choice. but the best character personality would be tuco. if he wasn't killed in the second season he would be an excellent foil for both gustavo and walt. his unhinged and anger-fueled demeanor fits perfectly with his line of work. that's just scratching the surface. tuco salamanca in general completely complements gus and walt's family values as both are either estranged from their family or have no family. tuco, despite being an insane murderer and literal methhead, was always built up as someone who will place family above his work as a drug kingpin at a moment's notice. in better call saul they even build upon it more

his death was also one of the most interesting character arcs in the beginning of the show. walt's plan to poison tuco only failed because he underestimated how close tuco was to his uncle, and really started to show walter as the character who sees family as a threat to the business
