The riots are a result of over 200 years of systemic racism, the media could have been completely silent on it and they still would have happened. It will keep happening as long as gross inequality exists, either between races or classes. Racism and police corruption is not a false narrative. People of color and impoverished individuals are systemically forced into desperation and the government manufactured the drug war to keep feeding prisoners to the prison industrial system, which is basically modern slavery. Prison labor makes up a swathing portion of production that feeds consumerism, all to cut costs and make a group of investors a lot of money.
