Ya know with lotsa games, how people will pay a website like this to host a server for them? Well, is it possible to do that with Blockland?

If you want to run unknown games like Blockland, you won't be able to use one of the pay per slot services.  You'll have to rent your own dedicated server.

I rent through http://www.theplanet.com where you can get a server for $89/month, although it's only a 2ghz celeron that should be plenty for most games.  The nice thing is that once you have your own server you can do whatever you want with it.  It's probably too expensive for everyone who plays Blockland, though.

Hmmm... thought you might reply :P . Yeah, I guess $89 is quite a bit. Dang :panda: .

Thats allot better then one of those over powered $300/month computers.

I over heard my school might be replacing some XPs, so I'm going to try to get a few, and get my own little stack of servers.  Their processers are crap, but I would be content with even a 5 person dedi.

Get a Mac :cookieMonster: .

No, don't. Not for teh gamez. But if you like to do stuff other than games, mac good. If not, mac fail.

I love Macs, I just can't afford any.  (or any decent computer for that matter)

Is that why it was so easy to crash the age of time server with fiber?

You can also do Hypernia.net, but thats even more expensive, but it comes with a cool virtual-pc like console, where you can just launch the dedicated.bat and all ports are open.

Overall, the easiest way is to just leave it open in your background. It's free, ya know.

Yes but then it would be taking up your computer's resources, so unless you don't use your PC for gaming, you are going be pretty limited on what you can do. It will also take up a lot of bandwidth depending on how many people are in your server.
