Well, I've bought the full version and been enjoying it for a few days.
My thoughts on some of the minor issues of the game (that have obviously been here for forever)

Although it goes against the very nature of the game, combat isn't actually all that interesting, at least when you're soloing quests. Monsters become sources of experience and drops instead of sources of danger. Take the Elder Scrolls series, for example. They have leveling, but it's a much more immersive kind of feel. You actually feel danger when there's something powerful nearby. And personally, I'd rather have the personal goal of being a strong warrior who's saved the kingdom than just making the biggest numbers fly off the screen as you simultaneously murder dozens of lower-leveled players.

Another thing is the game's inability to make things believable. When I played Runescape, they did this very well; WoW, not so much. For example:

[Helpless Citizen]: HELP! We're being attacked by ravenous spiders!
[Mighty Warrior]: Have no fear! I'll take care of those overgrown vermin!
[Helpless Citizen]: Good! Kill 50 of them!
(50 spiders later)
[Mighty Warrior]: I HAVE SLAIN THE SPIDERS!
[Helpless Citizen]: Thank you kind sir! Take my life savings and my pants!
(The warrior looks around, and there are still a bazillion spiders around murdering everyone)

Is it that hard to have a sort of thing that only the people who have completed the quest can see?

I started a human hunter and it was like that at first. But once i got past level 10, there were a ton of quests that only the player could see if completed. and could only see while doing it.
Whoda:
First of all, in the Lore of World of Warcraft you're nothing. You're just a citizen. No one actually cares about you.

There are phased quest zones.
But I'd rather like them unphased since I can help my friend by killing quest mobs with him.
