The "E" makes the "I" sound like "I". It doesn't change the whole word. Also, "Ayese" still sounds like "Ice".

If that's the case then even "realize" sounds like real-ice. Ree-al-aye-sss. Ree-al-aye-zzz. And what does the way it sounds like have to do with Grammar? Mum doesn't sound like Mom. If they sound different they're no less grammatically correct.
