Hacking Into Computer Accounts?

Hi,

recently my brother has come to stay with us and he uses an old pc to check his emails etc.

but one thing i cant understand is that he is able to get into my computer somehow and get past my password!

is there any way possible of stopping him doing this?

He might be able to go in through network places. Slow as hell though for me.

Either that or he knocks you out while your on it, does his stuff and waits for you to return having left the room.

If he has physical access to the computer, it'd be trivial to gain access to it. Have you tried to talk to him about it yet? If not, bring it up in a nice way. "Have you been using my computer? I'm curious, can you show me how you got around my password?" Make peace, not war. Now, if he goes and tells you to shove off or something otherwise rude, that wouldn't be too good.

He might have keylogged you. Look for any unfamiliar applications running in task manager. Then change your passwords.

Set your login sound to something extremely loud, maybe a siren, and when you leave the computer, turn the speakers all the way up. Catch him in the act.

(sorry i havent replied for ages) um yeh there is no keylogger. he may clever enough to get into my pc but not enough to key log me XD.

but yeh i have tried to talk to him. he keeps saying i leave it on :/

also, i am using XP soooo does that make a difference?
