Terrible person? He recently stepped down from head position at Microsoft to work on his charity organisations, regardless of how overpriced his products are. The money goes to good use.

Blah blah. He's only got to be this rich from crushing competition and he's probably only stepping down because of the threat Google poses to his monopoly/empire. What Bill Gates means by "working on charity organisations" is that he will just throw a couple of suitcases of money around, then sit down and retire after a job well done.
I'm glad to see he's trying to do something about the gaping divider between the rich and the poor, though. Even though it was an insignificant little problem he could still find it in his heart to address such an issue. Good for him.
