Author Topic: Can fraps record non-game things?  (Read 4932 times)

I wanted to make a video and i was wondering if I could use my fraps to record on something besides a game. I can, if i have to, use hypercam, but that is laggy and I really would prefere using fraps. Anyone know how?

It can record other things, depends what though. I think you record any moving images such as a windows media player window or possibly a youtube video.

But, if you want to record parts of your desktop or you working with a program then you need to find other software, it is out there believe me.

whats a good game/screen recorder that can record mic+game lol. fraps seems to only want to use one or the other for sound input x.x

Camtasia should be able to, not sure though.

I can record your desktop. just goto fraps>fps>click Moniter Desktop Window Manager>record.
now this only works if you have the full version. and there is no way to get the full version free...

I do have full version

Fraps can only record stuff that runs on DirectX/OpenGL/Direct3D.
