Installing and using the Mission editor on a mac

Here's what i want to do:

I'm trying to make a map, but i have no clue how to. Could someone help me??? Here's what i want: Flat map, black terrain, perfectly flat terrain (like slate and construct), black background scenery (and maybe a moon), and no trees/grass/structures (like slate), and the least possible background light (pitch black). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
