Gimp I found to be extremely useful for cropping screenshots and making images transparent. Got really tired of it once I found out how complicated the line tool was. Not sure who to vote for.

I use Inkscape for drawing and GIMP for photo and image editing. I love GIMP.

Also, Photoshop Elements 5 isn't bad for the $40 or whatever it is, if you buy it used.

Gimp has layer styles. But Paint looks more organized. I dont like how gimp made its toolbar.(not in same window) Paint has it in same window. :/

GIMP, in my opinion.  I have used it for years and love it.

I used gimp. After trying several times, I uninstalled it.

Then I got paint.net. I r winnar.

Gimp is handy for changing images. Paint.net is much better for the creation of images. get both, they're different.

paint.net is smaller in size and doesnt take forever to start up

snot, how did you get so good at Paint.net-ing? Those logos you changed up and put your name on were awesome D:[/offtopic]

I do all my spriting in paint.net, it's great for stuff like that, and has a much, much nicer interface than GIMP's floaty crap.
