Star wars Republic Commando-Vista XPS 420 (Nvidia 8800 series) HALP!

Ok well i orderd Republic Commando for PC and I'm excited to play but then my Vista decided to be a douche and it doesn't work says it stopped working before it opened and I looked it up says that its the NVIDIA GT 8800 series so they said change the bump mapping setting in game, but I can't do that because it doesn't open. HALP!

This is a old problem. Nvidia's drivers (that card) have NEVER been compatible with that game. i don't know why they never made a fix.
yeah turning off bump mapping fixes it, just looks like crap.

of course you cant open the game, so you gotta find and edit the config file or whatever that game uses, and bump mapping value 0 or off manually

I'm using the 8 series drivers, and I can run it just fine.

it only has done this on that one card. 8 series cards come in like 14 models.
and any drivers would do this to that game on that card
