I think using full words and some basic stuff like sentences and some punctuation is important, but getting exact grammar isn't that important, as long as people understand you.

Typing like this is easy if you don't abbreviate stuff constantly. Typing like this CONSTANTLY gives you the honor of being a grammar national socialist. I'm proud of my title. 

All I say, is that you should use capitals, commas, and know how to use the ' properly. :D

Firstly, as far as British English is involved, it comes before.
Secondly, any punctuation will do. It doesn't have to be a period. In fact, it's usually a comma.
