Blockland Forums > General Discussion
man,is the BL community bummin you out?
PhatStreet:
I'm guessing the majority of the people in this thread never knew about Blockland until after The Screen Savers or later. If you haven't seen the whole thing, your opinion really doesn't mean much. People don't seem to realize that:
1. With the exception of a few people like Doo Dee, Green Lantern, Facechild, and some others, most builds suck these days.
2. Mods have taken a step backwards recently.
3. Join any given server and expect to find the same thing, or nothing at all.
4. Having 10 empty dedicated servers doesn't = populated.

If you're unable to find good builds, then it's because you just don't know who, or where to look. In tiny communities it's easy to find people you know. In larger communities it takes some time to find out who has the good servers, and to get their password for access to it. That's just my experience with RTB at least.
Who has 10 empty dedicated servers? If I ever see 10 empty dedicated servers, then I'm sure to see 20 populated servers at the same time. Just the other day I saw 41 RTB servers alone, and almost all of them had players. I suppose Having 10 empty dedicateds is better than 2 empty dedicateds, haha. :)

Yeah I suppose it is.
BL Community HAS gone down hill, I looked at the cached files of the old forum on google, hardly any flaming, not much mod wars, and very peaceful. Badspot posted more often, all the more mature people now were n00bs saying, "I LIKE THIS Modsz PLEASE POST MORE!" when the coolest mods were crosshairs and StuntBL.... Badspot even liked it...
--- Quote ---Woah this is sounding pretty cool. I'm gonna put this in my list of mod ideas for retail.

But now the community has gone down hill because we don't care what anyone thinks because "we" the more mature players from the old forum of 07 March 2005, always have the right to say whatever we want, and do whatever we want. Flame, be dee dee dee's and even have love on this forum. I don't see why its so "messed up" now. I just don't know why, maybe theres too many people who think their "da shizznits". I personally don't think any of us are the shiznits. Not MCP, not Mocheeze, not Rit, no one. Its a game that WE ALL play, its our choice of mods, and if everyone didn't care what or how we played our Blockland this community wouldn't be so "forgeted up". If everyone played happily like
--- Quote ---Guy: Hey guy2 what mod do you play?
Guy2: RTB, and some SBL here and there, TBM sometimes.
Guy: Cool want to play something later?
Guy2: Sure.

I think it also has gone down hill because everyone criticizes everything like comedians criticize Bush. If people said hey thats cool but it needs work. That would help, and if people didn't think that their mod is awesome no matter what (talking to RTB AND TBM) then it wouldn't be bad at all. But since people on this forum don't get what "harmony" is it will never happen. If you think that i'm right in saying this just agree. Lets get back to when the worst burn was

I think my favorite time was when BLM 1.6a released, the community was full of great people who did extrodinary things, the noob population was full of good noobs, the ones who accepted creative critCIAm and wanted to learn, i think when the community started bumming out was when the AiO and the TBM'ers started the wars, it was like DDay everyday on the forums, it was total chaos, then TBM got banned and everything got quite suddenly, then RtB was released and the community was taken by storm, the community grew, BL got more popular, the noobs started flooding in, the forum is still growing in a way of new people and returning players that quit for a while, and people who have still been here doing new things to help the community, it seems that we are not failing, but are progressing in the only way we can, the only way to keep going is to go through hardships, which we have seen many of, and we will keep seeing them as we grow, but we just have to make the best of it and enjoy it like the game was ment to be enjoyed.
