If your talking about the colonists, no, they didn't. Rum was the only safe thing to drink, so children drank it, adults drank it, and even the elderly. They're not barbarians for keeping children alive.

Oh my God, I know that, but there was a Rumor of the Romans who Survived the Sacking of Rome figured out a Herb which could purify water, or had like a 50%, and i'm not saying the people are Barbarian's for feeding Children beer, i'm calling the people barbarians for coming in and Decapitiating and Raiding towns.

Usually I consider "veterans" whoever isn't an idiot. Age hasn't got much to do with it, there are plenty of guys from the old RTB days who are loving handicapped (see Cradle challenge guy)
