Just to point out places with less strict gun laws would be generally safer than places with really strict gun laws as strict gun laws just ensures a respectable member of society that abides by the rules wouldn't have a gun while a criminal can just buy one illegally and come rob defenseless people.

yeah but at the same time in america convicts can't buy guns, so they just steal guns that aren't locked up when robbing homes.

Don't forget flea markets.
The one in a town about 70 miles north you can get guns cheap and no paper work needed.
