He called me a loser for having a point of view on the whole thing. It would be like asking a cat for financial advice to me to ask that kind of a serious question on this forum.

No, the idea of it is as the said comparison. If you had not noticed, the forums are divided into four groups. There are the asses, noobs, newbs, and decent people. 60% fall into the first two. The rest are just uncaring.
