1) Amm, I have no idea where you brought that information from, but the religous people in Israel are like 20 %. Most of the residents believe in god and judaism but are not religous.
2) I'm not speaking for Israel, it's lame as USA (no offence)

In reality, you can be literate and extremely stupid at the same time.
So even if a country had 100% literacy, the majority of people could still be stupid.
You don't need to know how to read and write simple English to be smart.

If you believe in any form of a god, you are religious.
