Musical backing for teaser trailer.

Can I cut up a song and use it as a backer for a teaser trailer, is that kind of thing frowned upon?

10-20 seconds or less or about 30% of the song. Depends on which is less. That is what my teacher told us.

Hmmm. The song is too long for the trailer, is there a database of free songs for use in trailers?
