| BladeOfTheHorizon:
It's a good thing it doesn't go exactly at the speed of light, because if it did, you'd need infinite energy to power it, therefore deactivating all weapon systems and shields. |
| Pimpin:
your stuff's pretty terrible starhawk all you did was make a rough outline of a ship and then put a bunch of loving lines everywhere and call it 'detail' then you made up reasons for your lines, and gave the ship random stats 52 disruptors 26 torcreep bays 12 tractor beam projectors HOT DAMN! doesn't make your art suck any less, sorry anybody who knows anything about art would look down on your work who can't do that? all you need is a steady hand atticus is loving amazing and in terms of art... uhh... i can't think of any clever way to say this, so i'll just flatout say it: you're terrible in comparison |
| StarHawk:
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't see Atticus drawing space ships. I will admit it; I can't draw monsters. I can't draw peope. I can't draw animals. I can't draw nature. I can't. And I'll be the first on to admit it. But I'll also be the first one to say that it does take tallent to produce something like this. ESPECIALLY if I'm making it out of my head! It takes WAY more tallent to replicate an image out of my head than it does to trace an image that's already in front of you! As for Atticus, someone go take a look around World of Warcraft or some other game like that! All he had to do is take a basic body shape and add a spider head to it! Not all that hard to do either! --- Quote from: Lalam24 on February 13, 2009, 09:25:19 PM ---The fact that you made up the ship shows how much more of an easy task it should've been for you to draw, as apposed to drawing a ship that has already been made, with a basic picture released, so making it would be alot harder, because copying something that intricate, and actually doing it right, would require alot more talent. --- End quote --- So, you're saying that it takes more tallent to replicate an image that's staring you in the face than it does to create your own image? Would that then mean that if I replicated Atticus's drawing, then I would have more tallent than he has, because he actually made it up, and I just copied him? Or maybe Atticus copied that drawing from something else, and therefore has more tallent than the person who actually made it. And maybe then, if I build a lego set in Blockland that exists in real life by looking at the instructions, than I would have superior tallent to the person who created that set in the first place! And besides, I don't claim to be better than Atticus! Why are you comparing me to him anyway? He drew a monster and I drew a star ship. They're two different things! No offense to Atticus, his drawing is great and all, far better than what I could have done, but while Atticus is strong in drawing mosters, I'm strong in drawing technology. You can't compare our two drawings because they're different in almost every way! |

you're lying to yourself kid come on your ship is terrible it's just a bunch of loving lines that isn't art that's a loving doodle EDIT: the lines aren't even straight |

Thing is, if you make something up yourself, then you don't have to follow any basic proportions. And yes, if someone manages to completely redraw something that someone else has done, and makes it look almost the exact same, then it is more likely that they have more talent. Also, being given basic instructions to build a lego set is alot different from drawing something. Quit acting as if this is the best drawing that has ever been posted on the Blockland forum. Your art doesn't compare to most of the other art in Creativity. --- Quote from: entrepreneur in on February 15, 2009, 05:43:57 PM ---you're lying to yourself kid come on your ship is terrible it's just a bunch of loving lines that isn't art that's a loving doodle EDIT: the lines aren't even straight --- End quote --- Quote for loving truth. |
