Turns out that Gmod runs at a tolerable, if not fairly good framerate if I do the right settings. This can hold me off until I get an actual gaming machine, maybe.

how do i enable the nuke? i put it in the gmod add-ons folder but it isn't showing up ingame

Garry's Mod is unable to enable and disable stuff you download, they just appear once they're installed
It may be in the Entities tab, or Weapons tab
