They're poor-quality ripoffs of actual Lego. In one sense it's good competition *cough*, but on the other it's just blatantly trying to make money off of Lego's ideas and products. You could also just use cheap sources of Lego such as Bricklink or Ebay.

Thinking of getting some stuff from Bricklink and see how it compares to BRICK.
