Taping a belt of ammo to the side of a gun does not make it automatic.  You need a loading mechanism with the ability to spit out spent ammo.  Also it looks like it's too far forward.

And I'm not sure if I addressed this properly, but what I meant was that the belt feed/automatic loading mechanism/expulsion thing (I don't know gun terminology all that well) needed to be further back where the firing assembly would be.  It looks like you are combining tube feed and belt feed, which serves no purpose except that it would slow theoretically down the action.
