What are some good tips in using blender? How do I select a face on a square so I can make a rectangular prism?
Go into edit, set the selection to face, then r-click the face you want to move.

For Blockland, if I ever get around to animating and exporting it.

The yellow tube or whatever it is on the side is, and you don't hear this much, too low-poly.

The 4 barrel thing is a little wierd looking to me, I'm used to 6 or 8.

Nice, but odd.

I tried it with more sides, but It looked to high poly for my taste.

Usually 6 does the job. 8 If you want.

Looks ok, but something looks odd.  Maybe the fact that it looks like a cross between a chainsaw and a minigun.  Dunno.

Whenever I try to select this one object it selects another that it isn't even touching :\

There is a setting, that is don't see other side, or something.

Ignore and/or hide backfaces.
