Trying to create a semi-low poly human for rigging and animation

To be honest I never thought that it would come out this good, considering the amount of time I've spent in Blender.
Not that I'm saying that it's ACTUALLY good, but it seems pretty realistic to me on first glance.

Although I haven't actually given the shape of each muscle much attention, It does look like a human and is a good overall improvement over this:

Although I did decide to use a reference image for the blue man, so that was probably why it was so much of an improvement.

Haven't finished the legs yet, and I haven't even started on the arms. They are probably going to be the most difficult to do due to all the muscles and their unorthodox shape.

Uhhh that doesn't look anything near low poly... wireframe?

Maybe he hasn't gotten to the low poly part yet

Latest 10 minute modeling project, I wish I knew how to color it or render it decently however.

Either it's low poly compared to a realistic model, low poly with a high poly render subsurface modifier, or his definition of low poly is just a lot different than yours.

I wish I knew how to color it or render it decently however.
1) change to cycles render
2) turn on ambient occlusion
3) go to edit mode
4) select everything but the blade
5) hit P and select seperate
6) give sword's blade a glossy shader with a roughness of .5
7) give handle a flat color or texture
8) render
9) ???
10) profit

Here's some rocks I made using the same simple base mesh but different textures. Bottom one is the seam side. The textures are around 2500x2000.

Requesting overproportioned REM 870 with hollywood shotgun sounds

lol ok maybe not low poly

but low poly compared to some of the stuff out there I guess...

Only 100K verts

putting this on hold until i learn how to do stuff properly
that anime hair is difficult

Lookin' good. Maybe make the arms slightly wider at the elbow, with a slight indent on the inside and a more defined round elbow shape. Opposite for the knees. Armpits might need to be lowered slightly as well. Other than that, looks great. :)
