and I don't quite know what you mean by opening it but I rendered it and saved it as a .pngI opened it by selecting the camera, setting resolution to the ref. picture's resolution, clicking N, scrolling to background image and opening image
What is mean is how did you get a reference picture on and just modeled over it. That's my question.

You should model some rounds in the extra magazine, that'd look cool.

I just realized I screwed up/didn't add some minor details-- I'll add rounds when I go to fix those things

I'd say knock down on the pointless subdivisions on the rails and make the weapon more exaggerated and simple

then add the extra rounds in the clip because it makes logical sense

but that's just me, you're free to do whatever you want
