How would most schools know about blockland? It's not as famous a WoW or something. I once got on the Blockland forums during science class when I was supposed to be doing research. I wanted to see if it would be blocked for myself.

They get the filtering software from a big company.  When a website is reported, it gets blocked for all the clients unless the specifically unblock it.
