Author Topic: The Sirrus style evolution.  (Read 3571 times)

-A thread to chronicle the evolution of my building style and basically how awesome I am-

-snip-

Looks like we have a Limpfittz Jr.

Seriously, building skills on a game do not prove anyone is awesome. Get over yourself.

You may say your a good builder, but the title, "how awesome I am". Seriously, wtf.

I thought Trader had a large ego.

You know, as soon as I clicked the topic I felt Sirrus was whoring to get his reputation with the important people.

Please dont make a topic about you, going on that you have an enourmous Epeen.

Hey guys, it was a joke.

Does anyone really walk around going 'I am awesome' in a way that's not joking?

Yes.

It's like trying to make a comment on a Youtube video so stupid that people will know that you're kidding.

You dedicated the time and effort for that huge first post as a joke? Seriously?

The two 'I am awesome' comments were a joke. The rest of the OP was showing off what I've built, where I've come from, and what I'm doing now.

Cool

Mine goes something like:

Early Learning/Post Discovery

My very earliest style of building, taking place just weeks after I bought the game.

-Mainly focuses on exterior beauty, rather than interior detail and brick-integration (everything fitting together correctly)
-Built as I made up ideas, making the build inconsistent

Futuristic Beginning

This style diverted focus from the exterior detail to interior detail, making both aspects even, but of low skill. It also focused on futuristic space ship builds.

-Fairly boxy
-Almost no brick integration
-Choppy details

Ending Futuristic

Preferably focusing on only large, detailed battle cruisers, this build style diverted more detail to interiors, while still keeping detail in exteriors.

-Focuses on large builds
-Focuses on space ships
-Brick integration is still low, leaving vast sections of empty space outside the build's interior, yet inside the shell. Hallways and pathways of the ship is clearly visible in these large, open caverns, and often no attention what so ever is payed to detail of the hallway's shell, as no one was intended to see it.

-NO BUILDING STYLE...-

For a month or two, I went inactive with building, and simply server surfed, DMing and socializing with friends while trying to recover my inspiration for builds.

Beginning Medieval

At this point, I found my true calling - Medieval builds. By now, my skill with both detail and integration had grown significantly.

-Builds are much more detailed and authentic than previous builds.
-More color is added, using bright yellows, rich browns, and dark reds

Advanced Medieval/Majestic

This is the style I am currently working with. I'm still sticking with Medieval and Renaissance style building.

-Builds now feature a main color of stone grey, adding bits of bright color in certain areas. This is meant to draw the eye towards specific, unique details.
-Even more focus on exterior beauty, as much as detail on interiors.

Sorry for the long post. D: I couldn't make the pictures any smaller for some reason.

That's just epic, I've never seen anything like that.

I probably go something like this

1. First week: server surfed, like ghoul. Built some, jsualy small little ugly builds(almost never spammed)
2. Started to put some detail In my builds, I kinda half and halfed beetween surfing and building. My builds were part decent, but still boxy.
3. This is my death match building stage. I put detail in things, but mainly worked on events for misculanious(spelled wrong, don't bug me) mostley death matches though.
4. I finally reach a detail part of building. This is between a month ago and now. I am starting to focus on circles and ramps and such.
