Author Topic: Army Men Mod(Soldier now Available.)[closed]  (Read 53049 times)

first of all, dusty im not being that specific. They're just toys, and i'll just have a mixture. Its sort of like battlefield heroes.
But i will take some of those weapon suggestions. Bazooka i was already thinking of making.

The brick shift animations don't seem to work, for the "shotgun" part. Army men should be able to use push brooms and guns with recoil right :cookieMonster:

Yea thats because i don't know what mount uses the brick tool yet, so my guys can't build and i left the brick building animations alone.

lol sorry bushido

Hell. Yeah!

Do you have a test server up?

no

how about an Ammo Provider?

Description:
He runs fast, and carries ammo boxes. he's like the medic, but for ammo 'n stuff.

i like that idea, but i can't script very well so we'll need help with that.
I'd happily help with doing simple weapons & Simple weapon Scripts. I'll make something nd show it to you soon.

alright

Just alittle notice... I kinda made a spitfire already and lots of people have downloaded it from my server already. I was wondering if you wouldnt ovewrite the vehicle_spitfire folder.
No, the weapons and vehicles will have an ArmyMen name infront of them.

Oh my god Strato, just release them if you care that much about overwriting. If someone named their add-on vehicle_Spitfire and published it before you, it wouldn't get failed because you never published yours.

Anyway, i might be able to help. I can make working tanks and planes.

So sorry, but once my brain gets caught up it takes me for a drive. Anyway, good news. I have the Model done, aside from some texture fixes. All I need now is a script...maybe an edit of the spear's script....

This is for BL? Nice.

The medic should get a little briefcase with a red + on it :D Medkit yes?

I really, really, really want this to be as close to the "Army Men" PC games as possible.  Army Men II was the first "war" PC game I ever played, and the series holds a lot of memories.

At least, that's what I thought of when you said "Army Men Mod", if you're just talking about the little generic plastic figures then I'm not interested.  Even if you were, I'd really suggest thinking about basing the mod on the games.

You should have those go the body colour like the horse, so it would be easy to see who is who in TDM's :D

yea, i said that in the 4th post

It will be sort of like that, and since the colour changes to whatever body colour you have you can have wars between green, tan or whatever other colour army men you have.

we'll see what system we come up with for him.

Dude they are my add-ons. Overwriteing something sometimes causes invalid packets.

update:

but for some reason muzzlePoint doesn't work with shootonclick script.

I'd like to help with weapon modeling, I'm currently making a weapon app. The model is done, just need to work on the scripting some more.

Nice turret. :)

edit: I could just PM you a picture of the model.

yea just show me a picture, either pm or here. Doesn't have to work ingame

Off Topic: After that whole post you only found a colour mistake xD? I feel light green would be better for the recognition of allies. They may be mistaken for Japs. And yes, Britain fought the Japanese late in 1945. Though not as much as the Americans did.

On Topic: what about a Demolitions expert? Explosives, Probably be better with a machinegun. Again, slow, tad more health. Sidearm, yes.

=EDIT=
Fixed some spelling/grammar errors. I spol gud dont i? i alo grmer coretly. <Ah, Irony, my old friend>

=EDIT EDIT=
Weapon colouring. Tan Japs shouldn't have green guns. Make the certain faction only guns (I.E. Luger is German, so make it Grey) by the color of their faction. Also, edit the player types for a more realistic effect for Japs and Brits. Some Japanese soldiers had Mushroom shaped helmets with a cloth behind them, and the Brits had those odd Bowl-Like helmets. Not to mention give some German soldiers trenchcoats. Also: New Special Class:
Officer! Yay, hoorah, bla bla bla.
Officer: Sidearm, commands a small group of soldiers. No highly developed "ranks" Just:

OfficerExample123: I am an officer. You shall follow my orders.
PlayerExample234: YES SIR

And to prevent this from happening:

Officer123: Forward men!
NoobMoron222: wut/ nofu. i is myslef <Blows away officer>

Court Martial. Killing of officer removes the player from the game and will not allow them to spawn for 2 minutes with the message:

Kid, you've just been court martialed. Enjoy two minutes out of game.

And rejection of the ability to be special for 10 minutes. Eat that, you swine >:D
Maybe some Easter Egg events?
Such as A.I that are heard over a Radioman's radio:

Lieutenant: You must be safe in that there tank, huh, hayseed?

Tank Commander: You wont be sayin' that if we come across a German Tiger! This armor is only 3 and ½ inches thick!

Lieutenant: Oh really? And how thick do you think my shirt is?

in most games, your allys are sky blue, whaere you are blue
