It is possible. But then, have you ever stopped to look at how big our universe is? You're thinking on the small scale, the geocentric so to speak, if you look at how large the universe is, and how many religions there are, how can you say your God is the correct. How can you say it's not just a story. God himself wouldn't show himself to the world if he existed, according to you he bases himself on faith. So now, picture this if you can:

You're alone in a cave, and you haven't a clue about science. All you know is that you get up, you hunt, and you eat and poop, then go home and sleep. All of a sudden, lighting strikes in the distance. You've never seen this before and have no way of explaining it. You're scared stuffless. But being this higher thinking human you are, you want an explanation. In fact you demand an explanation otherwise you'll stay afraid. Eventually these stories evolve into what they are today. Stories are such a big part of our life, it's only obvious that they became such a center of society that they are today. Without them the world would be in anarchy.

Now, sure, God may exist, but the one you believe in is almost, as koolkody put it, improbable.

I'd stop arguing with religious people, if they'd just admit that they don't know, they're scared, and that they want to believe in God because of it. Not tell me "I know because the Bible tells me so". That's stupid.

I don't believe in god because of the bible. Sure, I can be scared at times and do rely on him for comfort, but that's not why I believe in him. I believe in god because he does exist. In the trees, in rocks, even in the smallest
stone. God is here, you just have to see him not as this giant man who can do everything, but simply look at everything that is alive and here, and you will see him. He's may not be a physical person who walks around like we do, but he is in everything, because he created everything, he is here. I always know he is here. I have had many experiences with god too. So, that's my view on things.

Just popping in to say, the fight is unbalanced. The pro-religion side can make up whatever stuff they like and call it 'god's words'. Scientists, on the other hand, have to find evidence. Whatever scientists say, religion can always win becaus they can say whatever they like, without proof. For example, we say he is a cruel god because he kills people. The church says that it's part of a bigger plan, for the 'greater good'. Evolution? Oh, yeah, god made evolution happen. It's simply impossible to convice religious people to see the light. I can claim that there is a magical teapot circling the moon and that it cannot be detected in any way. Well who can prove me wrong? Religion can throw down whatever they like and don't need any form of evidence or anything. I mean, really, would the ravings of an old man be considered rock-hard proof in a labratory? I think not.

That doesn't excuse you from arguing with everything supported by large amounts of evidence. Also you believe in God, so you believe in at least a part of the bible.
