And besides guys, you need to learn about burden of proof.  Knifeman does not have to prove that he isn't lying.  The people who are attacking him (prosecutor) DO have to prove that he IS lying.  Since knifeman is the "defendant", the burden of proof does not fall on him.  It's like saying:

"Hey guys, watermelons are blue on the inside until you cut them open.  Prove me wrong."
