And Katana's are pretty light and have a far reach. Probably one of the best melee weapons for a fight. |

That being said, it would be hard to cut a head off with a machete as well. You might as well pack a machete over a katana, you also got the addition of availability as well. Then again, a melee weapon needs to be a last resort weapon. Also if you wish for a melee weapon with range, go for a spear, one of the longest of the melee weapons. |

Also, hate to break it to you but you can't exactly slice the head off of something with as much ease as you think it is, we arn't made of jello, we have bones. If I HAD to go melee, I would use a loving blunt object because it would be much easier to just cave their skull in than try to look like a character from an anime. |
