forget, load all the stuff in the back of the car, drive to Lake Ontario. I wouldn't worry about unpacking until I am fully offshore. I would drive the damn car right on the boat. Drive the boat to Europe, live a happy life there.

I still doubt you're going to survive on a boat to Europe on a yacht. A yacht wasn't made for cross-sea travel, just for leisure and show at a private lake or something. You probably wouldn't even have enough rations to make it to Europe, you'd probably just die of starvation. Better off just actually risking yourself against zombies even while the same threat of death is at sea.

*Small cot and other household items.

Strategy:
Get belongings together. Hotwire the car and attempt to get out of the crowded city I live in alive. Drive out to San Diego or somewhere around there and find the long expansive fields where wind turbines are. Get out of my car. Scale the turbine with the climbing equipment. Go up to the top gear box. When there I will open up the compartment inside, there actually is such a compartment. And set up my little house. Attach rope ladder to the top and roll it down. (I can take it back up when needed) Using my fully charged laptop I use the last scraps of my internet to download wind turbine skematics and pirated movies. I would then use my knowledge of wind turbines to re-wire the power to only power the things in my little home. (eventually after a few years all the neighboring turbines would do the same) Then, once I am running low on food, I would take apart the car and build a makeshift platform outside my compartment home. Filling this with soil and fertilizer I would plant my vegetables. I then will take my radio and every day send out a communication to see if people are out there. Eventually after a few years I would have gathered about 12 people. (We all would have our seperate turbines) and we would work together to go into cities and get luxury supplies and bring them back. We would have skype on a LAN network we set up a few years back so we could talk to eachother on skype and not risk going to the ground. (Pain in the ass to set the dman thing up, we had to get thousands of yards of PVC piping and electrical wire) Here we would live until a cure is found.
Aftermath:
If I could get out of the city with all the supplies I think I could survive forever.
