--- Quote from: Reactor Worker on May 24, 2009, 11:08:39 AM ---Yeah, owning 10% of the computer market is really "dominating". If anything, I'd say it's a tie between Windows and Linux. On the desktop market Windows remains the strongest player due to its compatibility, flexibility and cost. Linux holds the largest share of the server market due to it's efficiency and lower licensing costs. Apple, on the other hand, occupies a niche market. Mediocre hardware and decent software sold at a huge price premium that appeals to the media-type audience. There is a reason why Windows "sits there and takes it" and that is so it can be a useful OS. If they just suddenly decided to rewrite the whole OS every driver and every piece of software would have to be remade to match it. By continuing to use the NT kernel and a standard GUI they maintain a favorable relationship with consumers and businesses which are generally opposed to change. In direct opposition to this are the systems Apple sells. Beginning with proprietary formats and unique hardware, it was difficult to integrate their products into existing systems. By switching to using more typical computer components (such as Intel processors) and designing their OS more in line with Windows they have gained some market share...but that in itself is a piece of evidence in support of the Windows OS. The claim that they invented touch screen electronics is an erroneous one. I'm sure you will find that touch screens have been around significantly longer than simply the ones that Apple patented. --- End quote --- If Mac is not dominating the market.... http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-XP-SP3-To-be-Canceled-38765.shtml http://www.parallels.com/landingpage/dskd10/?source=google_us&gclid=COPj5reg1ZoCFQqenAod2X8L3w http://www.macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/14529/ Why would Wondows suddenly cancel updates for XP when Vista hasn't been out for 4 years? Why would Windows have a product that assists Mac? Why would Windows worry about Mac as a strong competitor? Apple is a strong component in the electronics market. |

I don't know, windows 7 is coming out this year, but maybe you didn't know that and are blabbing bullstuff? Why would Windows worry about Mac as a strong competitor? Because they realize that they have a competitor, that does not make Mac a dominating company however, idiot. --- End quote --- |

That program isn't developed by Microsoft. Good job. They want money. No doubt, but you're an idiot. |
