That's how I prefer it. Not infinite levels, just giant ones for colonies and different towns.

I'm trying out the woods theme, and I like it, a lot.
I think it would be fun when MP rolls along because it increases the scare factor of leaving the settlement, so having multiple settlements strewn about would prove for some interesting relations (would have to put effort into trade routes, make forts, etc)
