Right now podzol is the reference name, although he believes that will end up the official name. Picking up with silk touch is an assumption, although also probably going to happen. There will also be a special dirt block... Seems dirt is being given sub categories like grass, mycelium, and podzol to make it easier on their side? Still the same blocks, but they are subdivisions of dirt now? I'm trying to understand what he meant by this:

There's going to be a dirt block that grass can't grow on, for map makers I would assume.

Ohhh, that makes... sense... sorta... It sort of makes sense. I guess if you want dirt paths adjacent to grass. But I don't see an abundance of situations that would be useful. Still nice.

Would it become "normal" dirt after you've tilled and trampled over it?

He hasn't said yet. If it is a unique block (in a way), it might not even be able to be tilled.
