Yes, but the one attacking is opening himself up to anyone who doesn't believe what he does. Essentially, he started it and so he should be ready to be attacked back, in defense of course.

I'm going to have to use religion again.
There are more religious people on Earth than their are people against religion. Just because there are more, doesn't mean it's right.
I've accepted the fact that it hasn't been 100% disproven, but I'm still content with my decision, being that the articles I have read were legit.

Once again, its how people see it. If I saw the kool kids klub harassing black people, guess who I would want to see in court. Still, most sides do have a moral, or less evil side. Ironically enough, the religious nuts seem to be on the morally wrong side.

What right of yours exactly does granting gay people the right to share bank accounts and insurance plans violate? The right for genetically superior people to have better health coverage?
